Rotator Cuff Tear

The rotator cuff is a large group of muscle and tendons around your shoulder joint that attach the arm to the shoulder.  Any injury to these structures are generally referred to as a rotator cuff tear.  Treatment of a rotator cuff tear depends on the severity of injury.  Minor tears usually respond well to rest, medication and rehabilitation. Shoulder slings and shoulder immobilizers are usually effective in reducing the stress of the shoulder joint and allowing it to heal.

These shoulder immobilizers are also utilized post surgically to allow the operative site time to heal properly.
